As I was thinking on the bus home from school about the first assignment
to be put in my journal, I wondered why there were two introduction
posts. Since this is my journal I can consider all of the reasons for
this as I wish. Since this is my journal also, that is, a record of my
Jedi journey, I think it is prudent to do some introspection, in other
words, to introduce myself to myself as I a right now on the third of
May in 2012.
An Introduction of Oneself to Oneself
Why Jediism?
I have searched for something more than I am currently getting in my religious education.
Organized religion, especially those established some time back, are
rooted in an aged tradition. This is of course dependent on the
religion, denomination, and church one is a part of. For me, I find
myself too attached to the establishment, its positions and its laws. A
break from this may prove effective.
For this reason, I have decided to begin following the Jedi path. For
the moment, it does not conflict with any of the tenants of the
Abrahamic rite I hold to. The tenants of Jediism seem easy enough to
grasp if not to master. They also seem very natural, as in the way God
wants us to live.
The Force
Currently I have a small connection with the force that I can feel after
quiet moments in meditation, but I am often distracted by my own cares
and worries so that the connection seems to break. If I can establish a
strong connection with the Force, I believe, at the very least, that it
will help me live as a better Christian because I will be connected with
the whole earth as well as my fellow man.
Myself, the Jedi
Currently, for me, being a Jedi means acquiring as much of the right
kind of knowledge as possible. For a while I know I will be doing mostly
learning, although learning should be life long and knowledge available
in all situations.
