On being trapped in a carnal existence
“And God created man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7)

In Eden, man and woman have a direct, intimate relationship with God. This is changed, perhaps not necessarily spoiled, when the snake tempts the woman with idea of being “like God.” What she failed to realize was that by placing this “breath of life” this pnuema (in the Greek) into her body, God placed this spiritual being into a vehicle, if you will, of flesh. In essence, she was God.

Once Adam and Eve ate of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they created dualities. Good and Evil, Light and Dark, Flesh and Spirit. Previously there had only been existence and man KNEW of the purpose of the body as a vehicle the spirit used to experience life. Now, because of this action, man is trapped in a very carnal experience in his belief that a carnal life is all there is. Consider the rat race to acquire and consume. This is carnal. It is better we find a balance between carnal and spiritual and reach eternity. In order to do that, we must let go of the idea of our existence solely being on this earthly plane. But we must ascend. Or rather we must take the idea of planes completely out and simply be. But if that is the goal the WHAT must we be? We must be who we are and we are NOT this bag of bones. And we are not our thoughts. We are the Force. We are in a sense, God.

But you see I have a problem putting myself on the same level of God the creator. You see, if I do this, then all things lose there “thou nature” for me. Rather than, place myself in the seat of God, let me be but a lower form drawing on the energy of God which He has placed in all things. If this prevents me from ascending to the highest plane possible so be it. Let me learn what I can learn here in this plane. All other things from Watts make sense. The illusion of time, control, activity etc. To make oneself God is to place an awful lot of responsibility on the self. Better to blame others, especially if they are higher then you. Of course, I do not do this. Of course I take as much responsibility to control my own destiny as can be allowed in a particular frame of mind. For me there are a few. Well, there are two that I can name: the carnal mind and the spiritual one. The carnal mind is the mind of the do-er. It is the one defined by the physical attributes and intellectual attributes that I possess in the body and mind as Rosalyn Johnson. The other is the spiritual mind. It simply is. It simply exists. It is this deep mind which is most in tune with the Force. The Quiet mind. This mind is most accessible when you are quiet, when you hear, but don’t consider. When you shut off all of your senses and tap into your connection with the Universe. Your connection with God. Perhaps it is better to think of myself as a MANIFESTATION of God rather than God. It’s splitting hairs, I know. But, I think I’ve got it.
